World Junior Heavyweight Regulatory Commission chairman Masanori Yamada unveils the new belt in 2008

The World Junior Heavyweight Championship is a championship for wrestlers at or below the weight of 225 lbs. It was created when sixty-four lightweight, cruiserweight, and junior champions from around the world competed in a 64-man title unification tournament won by Raijin Narukami. Belts absorbed into the World Junior Heavyweight Championship include the WCWA Light Heavyweight Championship, XWF Cruiserweight Championship, OVW Light Heavyweight Championship, AWA Light Heavyweight Championship, GWF Light Heavyweight Championship, NWA Southwest Junior Heavyweight Championship, NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship (New Jersey version), WAR International Junior Heavyweight Championship, FMW World Junior Heavyweight Championship, AAPW Junior Championship, UKCW Junior Heavyweight Championship, and the WWA International Cruiserweight Championship among others.
